MINERAL COSMETIC TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

Here are a few hints in dealing with common application problems:

Skin appears flaky and dry.

Causes: Skin type tends to dryness; over-washing; skin care neglect.

Solutions:

• Make a liquid foundation from your powder with any skin care cream.
• Always set your makeup with a hydrosol mist. It relieves any powdery look from overzealous application, plus it helps the minerals adhere to the skin.
• Mist face during the day with Rosewater Hydrosol to hydrate skin. The wonderful thing about this is that you can mist your face at any time without ruining your makeup. Mist is the operative word; no running rivulets on your face.

Makeup appears blotchy.

Causes: Powder applied to skin that is excessively oily; moisturizer is too emollient; over-zealous application techniques; brush is in need of cleaning.

Solutions:

• Change treatment moisturizers to balance oil.
• Apply Beryl Translucence Powder, or a light dusting of one of the tinted finishing powders, before and/or after foundation powder.
• Use less powder.
• Wash your brush. The brush should always feel light and feathery on your skin, it should never drag over your skin.

Oil comes through makeup.

Causes: Skin type tends to excessive oil production; seasonal changes; hormonal changes; moisturizer too emollient.

Solutions:

• Precede makeup application with Super Matte Antishine or FF Liquid Powder.
• Eye Primer helps prevent creasing of eye shadow due to oiliness.
• Dust oil-prone areas with Beryl Translucence Powder before as well as after a foundation powder to help less severe oil problems. All of the finishing powders contain clay to enhance oil absorption and can be applied alone or after a foundation color powder.
• Make a creamy liquid foundation from the mineral powder and Vitamin B Complex Creme.
