Application Instructions for Mineral Cosmetics

February 13, 2010

Foundation Method I. Upend powder jar to collect powder either on top of sifter or inside of cover. Swirl a kabuki brush in the powder. Upend brush and tap bottom of handle on hard surface to allow powder to fall into the hairs. Work powder into clean skin by using circular motions with brush, working powder into pores and to hairline. Method II. Spill some powder on a tissue. Dip brush into powder and remove excess by tapping brush head on tissue. Apply as above. Pour any excess powder left on tissue back into jar. Cream Foundation For dry skin. Tap a small amount of powder into your hand and add moisture cream of your choice. Adjust ratio of powder to cream to suit the amount of coverage you desire. Apply a finishing powder for longer lasting matte finish. Concealer. Your foundation is often sufficient as a concealer, but you may also use one of the color correcting powders to hide hyperpigmentation, under-eye discoloration, age spots, blemishes, rosacea, or an uneven skin tone. Use a taklon Camouflage Brush to apply a more intense concentration of color on the area of concern. Concealer may be successfully used to cover spider veins or bruises anywhere on the body, or age spots on the backs of your hands. Use a color to match your skin and a brush size appropriate for coverage. Feather color into surrounding skin. Eye Shadow Using a shadow brush of choice, pick up a small amount of colored powder, tap off excess, and brush gently on eyelids, or under the brow area for highlights. Use FF Eye Primer for longest lasting shadow color without creasing. Eyeliner Dry liner: Use an angled, straight line, smudging, or fine pointed liner brush. Dip into powder, tapping off excess, and apply with feathery strokes to edges of eyelids. Liquid Liner: Moisten liner brush with Eyeliner Sealant for longest lasting results. Dip into powder and use feathery strokes to make a fine line along lashes. It is more effective to apply successive layers of thin lines rather than one thick line of color. Lip Color Always use a lip brush for the smoothest, most professional looking results. Dust clean, dry lips with foundation or finishing powder. This keeps color from traveling into lip lines and extends the wear of color. Apply color with brush. Blot, dust, and add a second layer of color.(See Lip Color Application Tips) Nail Polish You can make a small amount of a new color, add sparkle or sheen to an existing color, or modify an existing color with the addition of colored mineral powders. The possibilities are endless. Any color of nail polish can be customized with the addition of mineral powders. Use of disposable brushes with a small amount of polish allows you to change your color frequently with little waste and without bringing color into the original polish bottle. If you find a color you particularly like, add a small amount of mineral powder directly into the nail polish bottle. Shake to mix.
