It's the end of a hot summer, and for some of us, its been a hot, dry summer. Hair takes a beating from the sun and dry hair is dull. Here are three easy ideas to restore its life and shine.
Add moisture and shine to hair by conditioning dry hair between washings. Rub a dot of conditioner between the hands to warm it and massage through the hair overall or just on dry ends. Abbey conditioners contain essential oils and botanicals that are scalp healthy, which means healthy growth, so use your fingertips to massage conditioner into the scalp. Pay particular attention to any areas where growth is sparse or damaged.
Give yourself a home oil treatment. (See Sunburned Hair Repair for more detailed oil conditioning instructions.) Apply warmed coconut or olive oil (imagine all those beautiful Hawaiian or Italian women with gleaming black hair) to dry tresses. Wrap in warm towel for 30-60 minutes. Shampoo as usual. Apply leave-in conditioner to seal in moisture. Note: Work shampoo through hair before applying water to easily remove oil.
Avoid overwashing hair. Unless your hair is very oily, daily washing removes natural oils.
Chamomileis a common flower that makes a great, soothing tea that may help provide calming relief to help you fall asleep faster. But did you know that chamomile also is an important element in natural skin care—and even natural hair care?
Your skinlovespeptides. Peptides are short-chain amino acids that augment and help build proteins within your skin, resulting in firm, healthy skin with fewer wrinkles and less damage from environmental toxins.
